The Origin Story

Their love for health and fitness started a long time ago, even before Hudson and Rocio met in a college gym. Hudson grew up as a chubby kid who took to working out as a way to build confidence and became obsessed with trying to improve, leading to studying kinesiology in college and pursuing a career as an officer in the Marine Corps. Rocio grew up in a medical and academic family, excelling in sciences and becoming a certified Physician Associate before becoming a semi-professional athlete and certified personal trainer.

Hudson joined the Marine Corps with hopes to see the world and Rocio was supporting every step of the way. When a few injuries kept him from deploying multiple times and made it clear his career would be cut short, they developed a plan to travel the world together and help others do the same.

Rocio's biological parents both immigrated from Argentina and then remarried other immigrants which brought a wealth of cultures and adventure to her family. She traveled often while growing up but it wasn't necessarily on her terms. While Hudson didn't grow up traveling, their honeymoon to Italy gave him the travel bug and it has been a fun obsession ever since.

This site exists because we asked a stupid question.

Why can't you travel AND stay fit as you go, for an extended period of time?

Spend enough time in the fitness world and you'll hear that consistency and routine is everything. Spend time in the travel world and you hear nearly the opposite - let go and be spontaneous, you only live once.

Both communities make you think you have to choose and we couldn't find much inspiration or helpful information online as to HOW we could do both.

Who is Hudson?

Hudson is a Marine Corps veteran, fitness obsessive, and chronic overthinker who found that travel was the best cure for the last one. He's been building Fit2Wander as a way to share the systems and lessons that took him years to figure out — so you don't have to learn them the hard way. His need for adventure and love for content creation blend to provide you with the means to join vicariously on their adventures.


Who is Rocio?

Rocio is the half of the team who actually remembers to eat well on the road and the reason Fit2Wander has any aesthetic sense whatsoever. She owns her own personal training company, RLF (Rocio Loves Fitness), and is a long-time travel guru. With her background as a PA-C and certified personal trainer, she ensures all the fitness and nutrition advice is sound, while balancing enjoyment with a glass of wine or aperol spritz of course.
